In the middle of the Hem valley and the Parc Naturel des Caps et Marais d’Opale, this village, ideal for walking, will enchant you with its well-preserved authenticity.
The Hem meanders through the village, and the mill, which has now become a Panda guest-house (label given for its proximity to nature), bears witness to its past activity. In the middle of the village, you can visit the 19th-century church, and the Chapelle Cousinette (a chapel built in the middle of the fields) is the oldest in the district. If you enjoy walking, take the GR 128, which passes through the commune, and go up to Héricat, the woodcutters’ hamlet.
The tradition of breeding Boulonnais horses in the area is still kept up at the lovely traditional farm at the corner of the road leading to the Bois de Quercamps. Local specialties, such as chicory terrine from the village butcher or local meat products bought directly from the producer in Rue de Brêmes, are ideal for a picnic of local produce !
